This one slowed me down a little this morning. I was checking a website we’re currently developing cross-browser and ran into a bunch of issues in IE7. At first I thought “typical IE” and allayed myself to a bunch of CSS hacking.
Then I did some reading. Turns out this error occurs after installing the IE Developer Toolbar, something alot of people are currently crumbling about on the internet. Then it all added up, I’d just installed the Developer Toolbar the prior day.
OK, the fix :
Simple solution is un-install the toolbar, but I need it, I need to check what’s going on in my browser. After some surfing around there net there appears to be a hack. It does mean getting a copy of XN Resource Editor to manually edit some of the IEDevToolbar.dll resource files, but if you’re set on using the Developer Toolbar for IE it could save you the headache of wondering why nothing works !
